Air Force Generic Requirements

To qualify you will need to meet the minimum basic requirements listed below, as well as specific requirements for your chosen trade. In order to be considered a more competitive applicant, we recommend exceeding these requirements where possible.

An NZPF Jump Master ‘B’ Licence or International Equivalent.

Air Force Officer roles - Minimum Entry Requirements

CIS Officer Level 6 Diploma in Electronics and Computer Technology or Telecommunications.
To be more competitive a Bachelor of Info Science or BBS/BBC majoring in Computer Science,
Info Systems, Info Technology, Computer System Engineering, Internet Systems or Software Engineering is preferred.

Intelligence Officer A degree with preference of Politics, International Relations, Defence and Strategic Studies,
Information Systems/Technology or Remote Sensing.
Min age of 19 years.
NZ Citizen.
No decreased colour perception.
Medical Officer A minimum of two years postgraduate experience, completion of the MBChB and registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. Experience in primary health care and/or emergency medicine is also required.Colour perception restrictions may apply.
Psychologist Registered or be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Psychology Board, i.e. have a minimum is an MA or MSc in Psychology with at least one industrial, organisational or occupational postgraduate level paper (or if your qualifications are from an overseas university, you must provide evidence of your eligibility from the NZ Psychology Board with your application).Colour perception restrictions may apply.
Learning & Development Officer Registered as a trained teacher or hold a degree (preferably in Adult Education or a related field such as Human Resource Development, Training & Development, Vocational Training, Organisational Psychology or Education), or hold the equivalent of a level 5 Diploma in Adult Education & Training, or have practical experience.Colour perception restrictions may apply.
